  1. Hi Heidi! Here is my favorite green recipe:

    Creamy Asparagus Soup
    (from All Recipes)

    * 1 pound fresh asparagus
    * 3/4 cup chopped onion
    * 1/2 cup vegetable broth
    * 1 tablespoon butter
    * 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
    * 1 teaspoon salt
    * 1 pinch ground black pepper
    * 1 1/4 cups vegetable broth
    * 1 cup soy milk
    * 1/2 cup yogurt
    * 1 teaspoon lemon juice
    * 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

    1. Place asparagus and onion in a saucepan with 1/2 cup vegetable broth. Bring the broth to a boil, reduce heat and let simmer until the vegetables are tender.
    2. Reserve a few asparagus tips for garnish. Place remaining vegetable mixture in an electric blender and puree until smooth.
    3. Melt butter in the pan that was used for simmering the asparagus and onions. Stir while sprinkling flour, salt, and pepper into the butter. Do not let the flour brown. Allow the mixture to cook only 2 minutes. Stir in remaining 1 1/4 cups vegetable broth and increase the heat. Continue stirring until the mixture comes to a boil.
    4. Stir the vegetable puree and milk into the saucepan. Whisk yogurt into the mixture, followed by lemon juice. Stir until heated through, then ladle into bowls. Garnish with reserved asparagus tips. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if desired.

  2. and I'm a long time google reader-er, and am now officially "following" you on google.

  3. This is my first time visiting your site and I'm so glad that I've found it. My favorite green meal is usually breakfast-for-dinner...with lots of green food coloring. Nothing fancy -- just very simple and green.

    But, if I was in the mood to make a yummy green soup it would be Martha's Pureed Broccoli Soup:

  6. I just recently found your site so I really haven't tried that many recipes from here YET! However, the spiced cilantro chicken and mango rice might have to be the green dish I try. :)

  7. I like to add spinach to dishes to make them green and to give more nutrients.

  8. I try to eat salad at least one meal a day. Thanks!

  9. I like the top of the morning bagels w/green cream cheese.

  11. My favorite green meal is spinach quiche!! That's greenish right?

  12. My favorite green recipe from Tasty Sensation has to be the Top of the Morning bagels. Green or not I want to eat, breathe and live bagels@

  13. My favorite green recipe is the Mint Brownies! So good.

  14. My favorite green recipe from Tasty Sensations is Top of the Mornin' Bagels.

  18. My favorite St. Patty's green meal is corned beef and cabbage. My mom made it every year growning up.

  19. I have two favorite green meals served in honor of St. Patrick's day ... first, green pancakes for breakfast. A hit among the kids! The second is actually not green, but it beats corned beef and cabbage which I've never made successfully. My friend (who has Irish heritage) makes scrumptious Potato soup with Irish soda bread. This has become our celebration dinner. Great blog, Heidi! Julie Scott Roberts (

  23. Oh yeah, I put a link on facebook. I'm already a fan!

Nothing would be more tiresome than eating and drinking if God had not made them a pleasure as well as a necessity.
