Fudgie Nut Cookies

All I can say is, "Think warm, fudgie brownie with nuts" (omit the nuts if you don't like them - I made half with and half without).  If you really want to splurge, top it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. DELISH.  I froze half the dough and made them later.  YUM.  Great idea for a Memorial Day BBQ, or just because you like chocolate cookies.

2 sticks salted butter, softened
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
2/3 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups milk chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Spray large baking sheet.
2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat until light and fluffy. In a separate bowl, whisk to combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Add the butter mixture and stir until well blended. Stir in the chocolate chips and walnuts.

3. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake in preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes, until the tops are set. Remove from the oven and leave on pan for at least 10 minutes.  Then move to cool on a wire rack. Once cooled, store in an airtight container at room temperature or in the freezer.

Nothing would be more tiresome than eating and drinking if God had not made them a pleasure as well as a necessity.
