Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies (Mrs. Fields - Eat Your Heart Out)

1 cup of brown sugar
3/4 cup of white sugar
1 cup of margarine
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
2 cups quick oats
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
16 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips

Cream together sugars and margarine. Add eggs and vanilla. In a separate container combine the dry ingredients (except chocolate chips) and then gradually add them to the sugar mixture. Blend well. Add the chocolate chips and stir by hand to blend.
Drop by tablespoons onto a baking sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes. Cookies should look slightly unbaked in the center when you take them out. Remove from the oven and let cool for 1 minute and then remove and let cool on wax paper or foil. Very best when hot right out of the oven!
