Butterscotch Walnut Blondies

Print recipe HERE
(my pictures are horrible, I know, but this recipe is a MUST try if you like caramel, brown sugar and walnuts.)
1/4 c. unsalted butter
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 TBS. milk
1 lg. egg
1 c. flour
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Heat oven to 350.  Grease bottom & sides of glass 8x8 pan.  Melt butter in sauce pan over low heat, remove from heat and stir in brown sugar, vanilla, milk and egg.  Stir in remaining ingredients and spread in pan.  Bake about 22 minutes or until golden brown (don't overbake).  Cool 5 minutes then move to wire rack.

Caramel Frosting
1/8 c. butter
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/16 c. milk
1/2 c. powdered sugar

Melt butter in pan over medium heat.  Stir in brown sugar.  Heat to boiling, stirring constantly.  Reduce heat to low.  Stir about 2 minutes, add milk.  Heat to boiling and remove from heat.  Cool to lukewarm.  Beat in powdered sugar with whisk or spoon until smooth and spreadable.  Spread think layer over brownies.

Nothing would be more tiresome than eating and drinking if God had not made them a pleasure as well as a necessity.
